The much-awaited CCM elections are over that elevated both John Nchimbi and Stephen Wasira to top positions.
Nchimbi will now be a running mate to president Samia Suluhu Hassan while Wasira will be CCM second in command. In the same meeting, CCM unveiled her presidential flag bearers.
Samia and Nchimbi will be that ticket. In any election there must be winners and losers. Who are they? This article precisely investigates this question. Brace yourself.
Two videos in the same meeting showed who were the winners and who were losers. In one video, former president Jakaya Kikwete danced to the tunes of Diamonds Platnumz song.
Kikwete had more energy than those younger people who were flocking him.
He was enjoying the pivotal moment!
On the other video, there was the vibrant Kisesa MP, Luhaga Mpina, fuming in his seat while others around him gave a standing ovation as CCM confirmed president Samia Suluhu Hassan will be in the presidential ballot box.
But the real winners were not even in the country, they were somewhere else but not with us: DP WORLD were the real winners! I say so because now than ever before CCM and government top command is tamped to the rim with UAE hawks.
They would love to hand over all major means of production to the UAE.
They dream Tanzania to be like Dubai and do not care if achieving that ambition may require sending millions of Tanzania into a state of abject poverty and hopelessness.
What surprises me most, the majority of Tanzanians do not see the realignment of local leadership to serve neo-colonial interests.
What CCM summit has unveiled is pro- foreign business interests without an inkling of dedication to local economic empowerment.
Under Samia Suluhu Hassan’s watch both the government and CCM are filled with foreign economic interests advocates with no effort to balance with those who resist the balkanization of our economy.
CCM under Samia Suluhu Hassan does not believe in the economic empowerment of Tanzanians but in foreigners.
They have given up on that frontier. If there are jobs for Tanzania then could be in Saudi Arabia or South Korea where menial not white-collar jobs suit us!
Most of the appointments generously favoured those who crisscrossed across the country to make a case of why DP WORLD, and not Tanzanians, were best suited to manage our economy!
These days they bombard us with efficiencies and revenue collection stats but do not tell us why they feel we are incapable of surpassing those stats on our own.
China did not follow the foreign overdependence option but we still delude ourselves that we are heading towards the Chinese economic model of which there is no resemblance.
The US is beginning to investigate the UAE of which we have embraced in full as our economic redeemer.
The US is saying the UAE is not aligning herself with the US strategic interests in Africa.
The US is bristled to see us doling out over 8 million of forests to the UAE under the bogus arrangement of carbon credits exchange.
Perhaps illegal immigration now causing upheavals in the western world will help us to secure benevolent help from them.
There is a direct relationship between economic malnourishment of the citizens in the developing countries with the influx of illegal immigrants in the developed world.
Any effort to blunt illegal immigration requires comprehensive plans to keep those immigrants in their own countries.
That means economic empowerment of our own people. We cannot under any circumstances depend on foreigners to empower us economically. We must do it ourselves.
Problems are there to be solved but we cannot run away from them and expect a different result. So far, CCM is burying her head in the sand but for how long can it successfully do that?
Most of the appointments have benefited those who support DP WORLD and a question we need to begin asking ourselves is for how long Tanzania public policy will keep being moulded from Dubai and still claim we are a free nation?
Foreign investment has come with a huge slap on the face to our own sovereignty. Increasingly, we have willingly reduced ourselves into an economic satellite of foreign interests.
Our leadership no longer serves us but is a paw of foreign interests. One thing that unifies John Nchimbi, Steven Wasira, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo and Jerry Sillaa is their irresponsible support for the leasing agreement of Dar-es-Salaam port.
The only reason they are where they are is because they have expressed strong mistrust of Tanzanians determining our own destiny! Should we trust these foreign interests hawks to lead us knowing they do not care about us?
They do not believe us are capable of running our own public entities and yet they want us to trust them to manage our economy. If what CCM is saying about us is true then the axiomatic wisdom of “If one fish is rotten all are rotten” is applicable here. Contextualization of our pathetic case if Tanzanians cannot determine our own destiny then our leaders too cannot do it in our behalf.
Then this will be a case to return to the UN and ask it to repeal our political independence and say we are not yet ready to determine our own destiny.
We should beg the UN to pick one major economic power, but certainly not the UAE, to govern us. No more illegal democratic representatives running show to the abyss.
The US has already identified the UAE as existential threat in helping Africa finding her own feet which is a key ingredient to rein in on illegal immigration.
What I am concerned with is how the US will stop the UAE from picking illegal representation on Africa that suits her economic blueprint.
In Sudan, the US has identified the UAE as a major contributor of funneling weapons to Sudanese rebel leader, Mohammed Dagalo.
The UAE fight to control Sudan sovereignty has taken a horrific twist of arming one side against the other.
All this is done to control Sudanese port in the red sea.
Between August and November last year, the Sudanese government had signed and revoked a port leasing agreement worth $6 billions because the UAE was arming Dagalo to overthrow the Sudanese government.
You can imagine how the process of revoking the Dar-es-Salaam port leasing agreement will be if the UAE has no inkling of turning the tables against their fellow Arabs.
How much more they will interfere with our democratic process to ensure her strategic interests are not upended by future administrations.
The chaotic process potentially may turn out to be bloody and messy. Tanzanians need to begin asking themselves is for whose interests that we should accept to be a neo-colonial tool of the UAE?
We may never know why vice president Dr. Philip Mpango has chosen not to seek re=election as we may probably never know whether the direction of the future of Tanzania has anything to do with it.
Similarly, we may not know whether those who question his citizenship to mask the true narratives to shield their back are telling the truth. Somewhere the truth appears to be the major casualty but time will reconcile everything.
What irks me most as a citizen is to witness Tanzania public policy is now being intertwined with the UAE strategic interests.
In almost many ways, under president Samia Suluhu Hassan Tanzania has capitulated her sovereignty to the UAE with her frequent appointments irrefutably confirming this observation.
Of note, the Kisesa MP Mpina and a lady near him did not don CCM green and black outfits. CCM is not as homogenous as some would like to hoodwink us. Both did not give a standing ovation while CCM announced “SAMIA MITANO TENA….KAZI IENDELEE…” My question is: “KAZI IPI HIYO MNATAKA IENDELEE?”
Condemning us into abject poverty is what CCM is now plotting against most of us, and have foreign investors to help them out in that frontier.
We need incessant prayers to get ourselves out of this rut. Indeed, we have fallen in a rut, and CCM is unlikely to get us out of it.
We may need new leaders who understood Nyerere’ africanization of our economy is the most important ingredients to unite us and keep the peace. CCM preach and urge peace but sadly never walk the talk!
Tanzanians who backstop DP WORLD do not have our interests at heart but they too will not prosper because they are fighting the Almighty God who endowed us with the riches of this beautiful nation.
As the scripture instructs: God has tasked His sworn enemies with onus of amassing wealth without consuming it so that they can pass to blameless who will devour everything riches that the wickee had looted.
